How to uninstall Kaspersky on a Mac.
Kaspersky's Mac apps include an uninstaller you open from the app's own menu. Use it instead of dragging Kaspersky to the Trash.
Uninstall Kaspersky
- Open Kaspersky and choose Help › Support in the menu bar.
- Click Uninstall.
- In the uninstaller, click Uninstall again.
- Enter an administrator name and password, and confirm.
- Click Quit when it's done.
Kaspersky's browser extensions in Chrome and Firefox aren't removed automatically; remove them in each browser. If the uninstaller won't run, Kaspersky offers a separate removal tool for Mac on its support site.
Afterwards
- Check System Settings › General › Login Items & Extensions for anything still named Kaspersky; see login items. An app that's still in your Trash can stay listed there until you empty the Trash or restart; that's normal macOS behaviour.
- Empty the Trash when you're sure. Emptying the Trash is permanent.
Removing other antivirus apps? See Avast and Norton, McAfee, Bitdefender and Malwarebytes.
Based on Kaspersky's own support articles, checked October 2026. Menu names can change between versions.
Then check for anything Kaspersky left behind.
Once the app is gone, Pangalin Uninstaller's free Leftovers scan lists files left behind by apps that are no longer installed, by name and size. Apple's files are never included. It also shows where each one is and moves the ones you choose to the Trash in one go, with Undo.
