Terms of Service

These terms apply when you buy, download or use software from Pangalin (“we”, “us”), a trading name of KGB Equity (Pty) Ltd, a company registered in South Africa. By buying or using our software you agree to them.

Who sells to you. Our subscriptions are sold through Polar Software, Inc. (polar.sh), our reseller and merchant of record. Polar takes your payment, calculates and collects any sales tax, VAT or GST, sends your receipt and runs billing, and the charge on your card statement comes from Polar. Polar's Checkout Buyer Terms apply to the purchase. We make the software and are responsible for it, for your licence, for supporting you and for refund decisions; our 14-day refund promise below is in addition to Polar's terms.

What we sell and what you get

Both apps run on Macs with Apple silicon and macOS 13 or later. You download them free from pangalin.com, with no account and no time limit. Pangalin Uninstaller is completely free. Pangalin Space Manager's paid subscription adds features, unlocked with a licence key.

• Pangalin Space Manager licence: 12 months, renewing yearly. Free: scanning and seeing everything found, Space Watch, the menu bar, History and putting moves back, the Genuine? check, seeing every startup item, setting up automatic moves with a preview, Preview only and the clean-up report, freeing up to 5 GB in total on each Mac (everything that frees space shares it, counted once it has worked), and 3 Explain answers per Mac. Paid: no 5 GB limit, unlimited Explain answers, deleting local snapshots and running other tools' clean-up commands (their size can't be measured), switching off or removing startup items, and automatic moves that run without asking.
• Pangalin Uninstaller: free. Every feature is included for everyone, with no licence: uninstalling one app or several, the Mac-wide sweep, an app's hidden folders in your home folder, leftovers from deleted apps, Reset, Undo, the Startup tab, the Genuine? check, the Trash watcher, Homebrew-aware uninstalls, resetting an app's privacy permissions, deleting removed apps from the Trash, and unlimited Explain answers and summaries. An optional “Support us” payment is voluntary, unlocks nothing, and has the same 14-day refund.

Delivery. After your payment succeeds, we email your licence key to the address you bought with, usually within minutes. Enter it in the app under Settings › Licence. The paid features stay unlocked for the 12 months your payment covers; each renewal emails you a new key for the next 12 months.

Whatever happens to your subscription, a lapsed or cancelled licence never moves or deletes your files: anything Pangalin Space Manager moved stays where it is and can be brought back from History, and anything either app removed can be put back from the Trash until you empty it.

Prices, tax, billing and renewal

• Prices: Pangalin Space Manager $25 a year, in US dollars. Pangalin Uninstaller is free; support payments are whatever amount you choose. The price you see at checkout is the price you pay.
• Tax: prices exclude tax. Polar calculates, collects and remits sales tax, VAT or GST where it applies, and shows it at checkout before you pay.
• Renewal: subscriptions renew automatically every 12 months at the then-current price, charged to the payment method you used, until you cancel. We email you reminders about 11 weeks, 30 days and 7 days before each renewal, with the date, the price and how to cancel. If we ever change the price, the change applies from your next renewal and we'll tell you before it does.

Cancelling

You can cancel at any time: go to your subscription page, enter the email address you bought with (we'll email you a code), open the subscription and cancel it (step-by-step guide), or email hello@pangalin.com and we'll do it for you. Cancelling stops future renewals; your paid features stay unlocked until the end of the 12 months you've paid for.

Refunds

14-day refunds: if a purchase or a renewal isn't right for you, ask within 14 days and we'll refund it in full, no questions asked. Polar processes the refund to your original payment method. Our full Refund Policy explains how to ask and what happens next. It is in addition to any rights you have under consumer-protection law.

Your licence

Using our software is subject to our End User Licence Agreement. In short: the licence is personal to you and covers every Mac you personally own or control; your licence key is for you alone, so please don't share, sell or publish it; and you may not reverse-engineer the software to get around its licensing.

Support

Support is free and by email: hello@pangalin.com. One of the people who makes the apps replies, usually within two business days. We don't sell support plans, and we don't offer phone or remote-access support. Help for each app is on our Support page.

Using our apps with care

Pangalin Space Manager is designed to be reversible where possible: most deletes go to the Trash first, moves are copied and checked before the original is removed, and anything permanent is clearly labelled before you commit. Emptying the Trash, permanent deletions, deletions from a cloud provider and some system actions cannot be undone. Pangalin Space Manager works on your own files at your direction.

Pangalin Uninstaller moves apps and their leftover files to the Trash, and lists every file it will move before you confirm. It never empties the Trash. Two actions are permanent and are labelled before you confirm: Uninstall with Homebrew (Homebrew deletes the app itself) and Delete from Trash… (it deletes only the apps you name, from the top level of your Trash). Pangalin Space Manager offers the same two actions. The full rules are in the Licence Terms.

Before removing or moving a lot of files: keep a current backup (such as Time Machine), and review what's selected before you confirm.

Warranty and liability

We work hard to make our software reliable, but it's provided “as is” to the extent the law allows. We're not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including loss of data you chose to delete, and our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't legally be limited, or your rights under South Africa's Consumer Protection Act or equivalent laws where you live.

General

• We may update these terms; the date above shows the latest version. Changes won't apply retroactively to a purchase you've already made.
• These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa.
