How to uninstall Surfshark on a Mac.
Surfshark is removed by moving it to the Trash. The steps differ slightly depending on whether it came from the Mac App Store or Surfshark's website.
Uninstall Surfshark
- Quit Surfshark and disconnect the VPN.
- In Finder, open Applications, Control-click Surfshark and choose Move to Trash.
- Click Delete (App Store version) or Continue (website version) if asked.
- Empty the Trash.
Surfshark's article doesn't cover VPN configurations it may leave in System Settings. To check, see removing leftover VPN settings.
Afterwards
- Check System Settings › General › Login Items & Extensions for anything still named Surfshark; see login items. An app that's still in your Trash can stay listed there until you empty the Trash or restart; that's normal macOS behaviour.
- Empty the Trash when you're sure. Emptying the Trash is permanent.

Then check for anything Surfshark left behind.
Once the app is gone, Pangalin Uninstaller's free Leftovers scan lists files left behind by apps that are no longer installed, by name and size. Apple's files are never included. It also shows where each one is and moves the ones you choose to the Trash in one go, with Undo.
