How to uninstall FL Studio on a Mac.
Image-Line's manual covers removing FL Studio by hand. Back up your projects first, and anything you saved inside the FL Studio app itself.
Uninstall FL Studio
- Restart your Mac and don't open FL Studio.
- Back up your projects, by default in
Documents/Image-Line/FL Studio. Anything you saved inside the FL Studio app's package contents is deleted with the app. - Drag FL Studio from Applications to the Trash.
- Remove
~/Library/Preferences/Image-Line. For versions before 20.9, also remove/Library/Application Support/Image-Line/Shared.
Image-Line has a separate page on removing your licence.
Afterwards
- Check System Settings › General › Login Items & Extensions for anything still named FL Studio; see login items. An app that's still in your Trash can stay listed there until you empty the Trash or restart; that's normal macOS behaviour.
- Empty the Trash when you're sure. Emptying the Trash is permanent.
More audio software: uninstalling audio plug-ins and Native Instruments.
Based on Image-Line's own online manual, checked October 2026. Menu names can change between versions.
Then check for anything FL Studio left behind.
Once the app is gone, Pangalin Uninstaller's free Leftovers scan lists files left behind by apps that are no longer installed, by name and size. Apple's files are never included. It also shows where each one is and moves the ones you choose to the Trash in one go, with Undo.
