How to uninstall Discord on a Mac.
Discord doesn't include an uninstaller. Its support steps are to quit every Discord process first, remove its data folders, then move the app to the Trash.
Uninstall Discord
- Quit Discord with ⌘Q.
- Open Activity Monitor, search for
Discordand quit any Discord processes still running. - Press ⇧⌘G and move
~/Library/Application Support/Discordto the Trash. - Do the same for
/Library/Application Support/Discord. It may not exist; that's fine. - Drag Discord from Applications to the Trash.
If macOS says a file is in use, quit the Discord processes in Activity Monitor again, restart your Mac and try once more.
Afterwards
- Check System Settings › General › Login Items & Extensions for anything still named Discord; see login items. An app that's still in your Trash can stay listed there until you empty the Trash or restart; that's normal macOS behaviour.
- Empty the Trash when you're sure. Emptying the Trash is permanent.
Based on Discord's own support article, checked October 2026. Menu names can change between versions.
Then check for anything Discord left behind.
Once the app is gone, Pangalin Uninstaller's free Leftovers scan lists files left behind by apps that are no longer installed, by name and size. Apple's files are never included. It also shows where each one is and moves the ones you choose to the Trash in one go, with Undo.
