How to uninstall Paragon NTFS for Mac.
Paragon says dragging NTFS for Mac to the Trash leaves components behind, which can cause “Trial expired” or update messages later. Use its built-in uninstaller.
Uninstall Paragon NTFS for Mac
- Open NTFS for Mac.
- Choose Paragon NTFS for Mac 15 › Preferences… in the menu bar.
- Click Uninstall on the left, and confirm with Uninstall.
- Restart your Mac before installing anything else that reads NTFS.
Paragon's knowledge base also has a Terminal uninstall, and separate instructions for versions 9 and older.
Without an NTFS driver, macOS can still read NTFS drives but not write to them. To keep using a Windows drive on your Mac for both, reformat it as exFAT (erasing it) after copying its contents off.
Afterwards
- Check System Settings › General › Login Items & Extensions for anything still named Paragon; see login items. An app that's still in your Trash can stay listed there until you empty the Trash or restart; that's normal macOS behaviour.
- Empty the Trash when you're sure. Emptying the Trash is permanent.
Based on Paragon's own knowledge-base articles, checked October 2026. Menu names can change between versions.
Then check for anything Paragon NTFS for Mac left behind.
Once the app is gone, Pangalin Uninstaller's free Leftovers scan lists files left behind by apps that are no longer installed, by name and size. Apple's files are never included. It also shows where each one is and moves the ones you choose to the Trash in one go, with Undo.
