How to uninstall Brave on a Mac.
Brave is removed with a drag to the Trash. Its data (bookmarks, history, settings) stays until you remove its folder too.
Uninstall Brave
- Quit Brave.
- Drag Brave Browser from Applications to the Trash, and remove it from the Dock if it's there.
- To remove its data too: in Finder, open the Go menu, hold Option and choose Library.
- Open Application Support and move the BraveSoftware folder to the Trash.
Removing that folder deletes all your Brave data, so a reinstall starts fresh. Use Brave Sync first if you want to keep your bookmarks. Removing only Brave Beta or Nightly? Delete just that version's folder inside BraveSoftware.
Other browsers: Chrome and Firefox.
Afterwards
- Check System Settings › General › Login Items & Extensions for anything still named Brave; see login items. An app that's still in your Trash can stay listed there until you empty the Trash or restart; that's normal macOS behaviour.
- Empty the Trash when you're sure. Emptying the Trash is permanent.

Then check for anything Brave left behind.
Once the app is gone, Pangalin Uninstaller's free Leftovers scan lists files left behind by apps that are no longer installed, by name and size. Apple's files are never included. It also shows where each one is and moves the ones you choose to the Trash in one go, with Undo.
