How to uninstall Citrix Workspace on a Mac.
Citrix Workspace removes itself properly when you drag it to the Trash: it asks for your password and deletes its system files too. Citrix also offers an uninstaller on its installer disk image.
Work or school Mac? Citrix Workspace is usually installed by an IT department, and removing it can cut you off from your organisation's network. Ask your IT team first; they may need it installed, or may remove it for you.
Uninstall Citrix Workspace
- Quit Citrix Workspace (Citrix Workspace › Quit Citrix Workspace, or ⌘Q). If it's still open, macOS refuses to move it to the Trash.
- Drag Citrix Workspace from Applications to the Trash.
- Enter your Mac password when asked.
- Close your other apps and click Continue. Citrix then deletes the app and its system files.
Or open the Citrix Workspace .dmg installer (download it again from Citrix if needed) and choose Uninstall Citrix Workspace App.
Afterwards
- Check System Settings › General › Login Items & Extensions for anything still named Citrix; see login items. An app that's still in your Trash can stay listed there until you empty the Trash or restart; that's normal macOS behaviour.
- Empty the Trash when you're sure. Emptying the Trash is permanent.
Based on Citrix's own documentation, checked October 2026. Menu names can change between versions.
Then check for anything Citrix Workspace left behind.
Once the app is gone, Pangalin Uninstaller's free Leftovers scan lists files left behind by apps that are no longer installed, by name and size. Apple's files are never included. It also shows where each one is and moves the ones you choose to the Trash in one go, with Undo.
