How to uninstall TeamViewer on a Mac.

TeamViewer watches for its app being moved to the Trash and then offers to uninstall properly, including its configuration files if you choose.

Uninstall TeamViewer

  1. Quit TeamViewer.
  2. Drag TeamViewer from Applications to the Trash.
  3. In the dialog that appears, tick Also delete configuration files if you don't plan to use TeamViewer again.
  4. Click Uninstall, then OK.

TeamViewer also leaves instructions for removing it from the command line in /Library/Application Support/TeamViewer/Command Line Uninstall.txt, mainly for IT departments.

TeamViewer QuickSupport, the small app someone may have asked you to run for remote help, installs nothing else: drag it to the Trash.

Didn't install TeamViewer yourself? If someone asked you to install it for "support" you didn't request, remove it and check System Settings › Privacy & Security › Accessibility and Screen Recording for anything you don't recognise. Pangalin never offers remote support.

Afterwards

Based on TeamViewer's own knowledge-base article, checked October 2026. Menu names can change between versions.

Then check for anything TeamViewer left behind.

Once the app is gone, Pangalin Uninstaller's free Leftovers scan lists files left behind by apps that are no longer installed, by name and size. Apple's files are never included. It also shows where each one is and moves the ones you choose to the Trash in one go, with Undo.
