How to uninstall Zoom on a Mac.
Zoom has its own uninstall command built into the app, and it's the best way to remove it: it removes the app and the components Zoom installs alongside it.
Uninstall Zoom
- Open Zoom.
- In the menu bar, click Zoom Workplace (called zoom.us in older versions) and choose Uninstall Zoom Workplace (or Uninstall Zoom).
- Click OK to confirm.
Clean uninstall (optional)
Zoom also describes a “clean uninstall” that removes its encryption keys from your Keychain: open Keychain Access, search for Zoom Safe, and delete the matching items.
Only do this if you're sure. Zoom warns that deleting these keys can permanently stop you reading end-to-end encrypted Zoom Mail and Zoom Phone voicemails on this Mac, unless you have a backup key. If you'll reinstall Zoom on this Mac, skip this step.
Afterwards
- Check System Settings › General › Login Items for anything still named Zoom; see login items. If Zoom is still in your Trash, it can stay listed there until you empty the Trash or restart; that's normal macOS behaviour.
- If you deleted Zoom by dragging it to the Trash instead, reinstall it and use the Uninstall command above, so its components are removed too.
Zoom doesn't publish a list of the files it leaves in your Library, so we don't list paths here.

Then check for anything Zoom left behind.
