How to uninstall Spotify on a Mac.
Spotify keeps a cache of music you've played, plus downloads for offline listening. Both can grow to several gigabytes. You can clear them without uninstalling, or remove Spotify completely.
Just clear the space
- In Spotify, click your profile picture and choose Settings.
- Scroll to Storage. Click Clear cache, or Change location to keep it on another drive.
Offline downloads are managed separately: remove the download toggle on playlists you no longer need offline.
Uninstall completely
- Quit Spotify.
- Drag Spotify from Applications to the Trash.
- In Finder, open the Go menu, hold ⌥ and choose Library.
- In
Caches, movecom.spotify.clientandcom.spotify.client.helperto the Trash. - In
Application Support, move theSpotifyfolder to the Trash. - Empty the Trash and restart.
Your playlists and library are in your Spotify account, so they come back when you sign in again. Downloaded music must be downloaded again.

Then check for anything left behind.
Once the app is gone, Pangalin Uninstaller's free Leftovers scan lists files left behind by apps that are no longer installed, by name and size. Apple's files are never included. It also shows where each one is and moves the ones you choose to the Trash in one go, with Undo.
