How to undo a removal.

Everything Pangalin Uninstaller removes goes to your Trash, so it can come back until you empty the Trash. For your latest removal there's a one-click Undo; for anything older, use Finder.

Undo your latest removal

  1. Look at the status line at the bottom of the window, which describes what was just moved.
  2. Click Undo. Everything from that removal goes back to where it was, and the app list refreshes.

Undo covers the most recent uninstall, reset or leftover removal, including an app's emptied folder in Applications. If it included items macOS owns, macOS asks for your approval (password or Touch ID), unless you approved in the last 5 minutes. It's available until any of these happens:

Bring back anything older

Finder's Put Back isn't offered for files an app moves to the Trash, so you move them back yourself. The activity log tells you where each one came from.

  1. In Finder choose Go › Go to Folder… (⇧⌘G), open ~/Library/Application Support/Pangalin Uninstaller and open actions.log. Each line that begins COMMIT-ITEM shows an item's original location.
  2. Open the Trash from the Dock. Sorting by Date Added (View › Sort By › Date Added) puts the most recent removals together.
  3. Drag each item back to the folder the log shows. For a folder inside your Library, open a second Finder window with Go › Go to Folder… and drag the item into it.

To bring back a whole app, move back the app itself (to Applications) as well as its support files, so its settings come back with it.
