About Pangalin

Pangalin is two brothers, Grant and Brad, making Mac apps in East London, South Africa. We're self-funded, with no outside investors. We write the code, test it on our own Macs and answer support email ourselves.

Our first app started with our own MacBook at 93% full and a storage screen that said little more than “System Data”. The apps show what's there before anything changes. Most changes can be undone, and none of them track you.

Pangalin Space Manager

See where your Mac's space went, then clean, move or compress it.

Pangalin Space Manager scans a Mac's disk, another drive or one folder, and groups what it finds by what you can do about it: safe to clean, can move, or needs your review. You can clean caches, the Trash, installers and snapshots; move big folders, AI models and libraries to an external drive (moves are verified and can be put back from History); merge duplicates without deleting any copy; compress files; make iCloud Drive, OneDrive and Google Drive files online-only; and uninstall apps. Explain answers, written on the Mac by Apple Intelligence, say what an item is.

The latest version explains System Data (“Where did the rest go?”), adds a Never Clean list, an AI model library, a full startup manager, optional automatic moves to an external drive when space runs low (off until you switch them on), a Mac health check that lists what may stop working after macOS 27, a space forecast, Preview only and a saved clean-up report. Its Apps section has the same uninstall features as Pangalin Uninstaller, including the coloured Genuine? ticks. Seeing startup items and previewing automatic moves are free; switching startup items off and letting moves run without asking need a licence.

It's honest about what stays free: it never counts space macOS frees by itself or purgeable space as freed, and it warns about caches that come back. It moved 118 GB off our own 460 GB MacBook.

Pangalin Uninstaller

Remove the app, and what it left behind.

Pick an app and Pangalin Uninstaller lists every file it left behind, with sizes, before anything moves. Removed files go to the Trash, and Undo puts back your last removal. It also tags apps by how recently you used them, resets a misbehaving app without reinstalling it, shows what launches at startup and which app each item belongs to, and finds leftovers from apps you deleted years ago.

The latest version checks every app on the Mac in the background and gives it a coloured tick (gold for its known developer, green for signed and notarised, amber for unsigned or broken, red for a possible fake), offers Homebrew-aware uninstalls, lists AI apps' model folders unticked, resets an app's privacy permissions when it's uninstalled, finds removed apps in the Trash that still run things, and has an optional Trash watcher (off by default) and a choice of light or dark appearance.
