Pangalin Uninstaller · Release history
What's new in Pangalin Uninstaller.
Every release, newest first. To get the latest version, choose Pangalin Uninstaller › Check for Updates… or download it again. Pangalin Uninstaller is completely free, with every feature included.
Version 1.9.4
16 October 2026
Check for Updates… now shows that it's checking, then says you're up to date or why it couldn't check, instead of showing nothing.
- Changed: choosing Check for Updates… shows “Checking for updates…”, then “You're up to date” or the reason it couldn't check. Before, nothing appeared unless an update was available.
- Changed: the update banner is now Pangalin green.
Version 1.9.3
16 October 2026
Startup's list of app login items no longer shows “(null)” where macOS has no name or developer for an item.
- Fixed: where macOS has no name or developer for a login item, Startup shows the app the item belongs to instead of “(null)”.
Version 1.9.2
16 October 2026
Startup is easier to read: each item says whether it's running, the switch turns it on or off, and Remove… asks before it moves anything.
- Changed: each Startup item has a switch to turn it on or off.
- New: launch agents and daemons say whether they're Running, Not running or Off.
- Changed: Remove… is a plain grey button and asks before it moves anything.
- Changed: updated terms (2026-10-15.2).
Version 1.9.1
15 October 2026
The review now shows what it deliberately keeps, instead of leaving it out without a word.
- New: a company folder that other apps on your Mac still use (for example Native Instruments) appears under “Kept: shared with other apps”, with a padlock and the names of the apps that share it.
- Changed: a shared audio plug-in's note also names Logic Pro, GarageBand and MainStage when they can load it.
Version 1.9
15 October 2026
Leftovers now scans as soon as you open it and leads with one number: how much removed apps left behind. Every leftover says what it is, and “Why?” explains why it counts as a leftover.
- New: Leftovers scans as soon as you open it and shows how much removed apps left behind.
- New: “Left the most” shows which removed apps left the most; click one to see only its files.
- New: every leftover says what it is, and “Why?” explains in plain words why it counts as a leftover.
- New: Control-click to ignore an item, or everything from one app. Settings › Leftovers lists what you've ignored.
- New: a shared audio plug-in's note names the audio apps on your Mac that can load it.
- Changed: the gold tick now says “Known developer”.
- Changed: the Startup tab says where removed system items are kept.
- Changed: updated Licence Terms and Privacy Notice (2026-10-14).
Version 1.8
10 October 2026
Coloured ticks on every app show who signed it, the Startup tab finds more items and can stop them, and Pangalin Uninstaller can offer to remove an app's leftovers when you drag the app to the Trash.
- New: coloured ticks on every app, checked on your Mac: gold for an app signed by its known developer, green for signed and notarised, amber for unsigned or a broken signature, red for a possible fake. The ⓘ next to the app count explains them, and “Ask Apple about all apps…” checks every app with Apple.
- New: the Startup tab shows which app owns each item, finds items apps hide inside themselves or keep running from the Trash, and can stop them.
- New, off by default: when you drag an app to the Trash, Pangalin Uninstaller offers to remove its leftovers too.
- New: apps from Homebrew can be removed with Homebrew.
- New: installer packages' files and AI apps' model folders show up in the review, unticked.
- New: apps left in the Trash with background items can be deleted from there.
- New: an uninstall asks macOS to reset the app's privacy permissions.
- Safer: it never offers Apple's data, or data an installed app still uses.
- New: an Appearance setting: Light, Dark or Match System.
- Changed: updated Licence Terms.
Version 1.6.3
10 October 2026
Ready for macOS 27. Folders that macOS 27 keeps private without Full Disk Access are now shown in the review instead of skipped.
- Changed: without Full Disk Access, macOS 27 keeps apps out of Chrome's and Firefox's folders. The review now shows those folders as “couldn't be checked: needs Full Disk Access”, with a button to open the setting.
- New: a short “Folders we couldn't read” note says what it couldn't look inside.
- New: if macOS refuses to move something you chose, the app names what stayed and how to fix it.
- Fixed: the Full Disk Access check works the way macOS 27 expects.
- Changed: updated Licence Terms (2026-10-10.2).
Version 1.6.2
10 October 2026
The about-us pop-up and the links at the bottom of the window are now in Pangalin colours.
Version 1.6.1
10 October 2026
Click “by Pangalin” at the bottom of the window for a little about us, with links to our other apps and our website.
Version 1.6
10 October 2026
Pangalin Uninstaller is now completely free, with every feature included. No licence, no account, no ads.
- Changed: every feature is included for everyone: the Mac-wide sweep (audio plug-ins, daemons, helpers), hidden folders an app keeps in your home folder such as
~/.ollama, removing leftovers of apps you've already deleted, batch uninstall, and unlimited AI explanations, “What is this app?” and uninstall summaries. - New: an optional Support us link at the bottom of the window, if you'd like to help. It unlocks nothing.
- Changed: updated Licence Terms and Privacy Notice (2026-10-10).
Version 1.5.3
8 October 2026
“What is this app?” always describes the app you selected, and the sparkle on each app row works too.
- Fixed: “What is this app?” could show the answer for an app you looked at before.
- Changed: the sparkle on each app row now gives an explanation too.
Version 1.5.2
8 October 2026
“What is this app?” was opened up to everyone, and the terms were updated.
- Changed: “What is this app?” can be used by everyone. Since 1.6, explanations are unlimited.
- Changed: updated Licence Terms (2026-10-08).
Version 1.5.1
7 October 2026
Safer removals of App Store and installer apps, clearer wording, and update checks that send nothing about your Mac.
- Changed: nothing is scanned until you accept the terms.
- Safer: App Store and installer apps are moved before their system leftovers, so a refused removal changes nothing.
- Changed: items nobody can remove, such as installer receipt records, are no longer counted as removable.
- Fixed: Pangalin Uninstaller's own helper no longer appears in the Startup tab.
- Privacy: update checks send nothing about your Mac, not even the app or macOS version.
- Changed: updated Licence Terms and Privacy Notice (2026-10-07.4).
Version 1.5
7 October 2026
Apps from the App Store or an installer package can now be removed, setup comes in two steps, and one approval covers your removals and Undo for 5 minutes.
- New: setup in two steps: Full Disk Access, then the background helper, added in macOS's own window (Cancel skips it).
- New: one approval covers your removals and Undo for 5 minutes. macOS asks for it in its own window; the app never sees your password.
- New: App Store and installer apps can be removed (macOS asks for your approval).
- New: hidden folders an app keeps in your home folder, such as
~/.ollama, show up in the review. - New: uninstalling an app also stops the background helpers built into it.
- Fixed: in 1.4 the background helper couldn't switch or remove system startup items, and Uninstall Pangalin Uninstaller… couldn't remove it. Both work now.
- Changed: updated Licence Terms and Privacy Notice (2026-10-07.2).
Version 1.4

A Startup tab to see and manage login and background items, on-device AI explanations with Apple Intelligence, one-click Undo after a removal, a clean self-uninstall, an in-app Help guide and a fresh Pangalin look.
