How to uninstall CyberGhost VPN on a Mac.

CyberGhost is removed by quitting it and moving it to the Trash.

Uninstall CyberGhost

  1. Quit CyberGhost (gear icon › Quit CyberGhost VPN, or ⌘Q).
  2. In Finder, open Applications, Control-click CyberGhost VPN and choose Move to Trash.
  3. Empty the Trash.

Uninstalling doesn't cancel your CyberGhost subscription; manage that in your CyberGhost account.

Afterwards

Based on CyberGhost's own support article, checked October 2026. Menu names can change between versions.

Then check for anything CyberGhost left behind.

Once the app is gone, Pangalin Uninstaller's free Leftovers scan lists files left behind by apps that are no longer installed, by name and size. Apple's files are never included. It also shows where each one is and moves the ones you choose to the Trash in one go, with Undo.
